Actually, Minneapolis is quite the IDM/experimental city. Let It Be records has (but probably won't anymore, now that Brad Kraft isn't there) one of the best IDM selections of any record store in the entire world. They have a huge amount of CDs upstairs and several crates of records downstairs all devoted to IDM. There also used to be several IDM nights at clubs (Tuesdays at Liquid used to be Affect and then there was a Monday there later on) and now the Affect guys have started a semi-regular club night in the VIP room at First Avenue. If you're into noisier, more experimental stuff, there are a ton of artists. Check out stuff like Lost in Translation, Target Market Research, Cock ESP, Unconditional Loathing, Jindra, the Deviant Nation guys, etc. And come on, Jake Mandell lived there (or still does, but he's moving to Germany very soon). -- :: atomly :: atomly@atomly.com | atomly@atdot.org | atomly@curiousnetworks.com http://www.atomly.com | http://www.mp3.com/atomly --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
